How These Numbers Are Computed

Worked example
The Jackery Explorer 1500 Ultra lists at $1,199.00 with a
1,536 Wh battery.
$1,199.00 ÷ 1,536 =
$0.78 per watt-hour
Where the numbers come from
- Specifications: each manufacturer's own public product
listing (EcoFlow, Bluetti, Jackery, Anker SOLIX, Goal Zero). Every model
page shows its source link, the capture date, and the verbatim sentence the
capacity figure was read from.
- List price (MSRP): the list price shown on the
manufacturer's own store at capture — the crossed-out "compare at" price
where the store shows one, otherwise the store price itself. Each page says
which of the two it used.
- Refusal over guessing: a station appears here only if
its capacity and price are stated unambiguously by its own maker. Listings
that state only an "expandable to" capacity, or contradict themselves, are
left out rather than guessed at. Secondary specs (output watts, chemistry,
weight, ports) show "not stated" when the listing doesn't state them.
Honest limitations
- List price is not street price. Power stations are
discounted aggressively and often. $/Wh at list is a fair like-for-like
ranking (every brand's list, same treatment), but the deal of the week can
reorder any two neighbors. Live price tracking is planned; it is not here
yet, and no number on this site pretends otherwise.
- $/Wh is one lens. It measures battery bought per
dollar — not inverter power, port selection, cycle life, weight, or
warranty. Small stations always cost more per Wh; compare within a size
class or use the head-to-head pages.
- Capacity figures are the manufacturers' rated Wh,
measured by each maker's own method. Usable energy after inverter losses is
lower for every station.
- Data refresh: monthly. Stations whose listings go away or turn
ambiguous drop out at the next refresh rather than lingering wrong.
